چکیده

A microfluidic paper-based analytical device (μPAD) for the determination of lactoferrin in human tear fluid has been developed. By using the fluorescence signal emitted from lactoferrin-terbium complexes, an antibody-free sensing system has been achieved. Application of 2.5 μL of sample onto a μPAD allowed for the detection of lactoferrin concentration in human tear fluid. The selectivity for lactoferrin among the primary constituents of tear fluid has been confirmed. Furthermore, the accuracy of the developed μPAD has been evaluated by comparing the analysis results of real samples with the conventional ELISA method.

Paper-based microfluidic system for tear electrolyte analysis

The analysis of tear constituents at point-of-care settings has a potential for early diagnosis of ocular disorders such as dry eye disease, low-cost screening, and surveillance of at-risk subjects. However, current minimally-invasive rapid tear analysis systems for point-of-care settings have been limited to assessment of osmolarity or inflammatory markers and cannot differentiate between dry ...

Ophthalmologist-on-a-chip: Fully Integrated Microfluidic Tear Osmolarity and Protein Biomarker Quantification for Dry Eye Stratification

Human tear film fluid offers tremendous potential as a non-invasive diagnostic fluid. However, the use of tear fluid in diagnostic medicine is limited owing to non-standardized collection methodologies and low volume availability. We present a first-reported microfluidic tear fluid biomarker assay which will serve as a foundation for both rapid biomarker validation and point-of-care ocular diag...

Fluorescent Contrast agent Based on Graphene Quantum Dots Decorated Mesoporous Silica Nanoparticles for Detecting and Sorting Cancer Cells

Background and Objectives: The inability of classic fluorescence-activated cell sorting to single cancer cell sorting is one of the most significant drawbacks of this method. The sorting of cancer cells in microdroplets significantly influences our ability to analyze cancer cell proteins. Material and Methods: We adapted a developed microfluidic device as a 3D in vitro model to sorted MCF-7 c...
